Saint Luke

Saint Luke wrote two books of the Bible: the Gospel according to Luke and the Acts of the Apostles. Luke gives Bible readers the earliest introduction to the Galilean women who gave assistance to Jesus and the Twelve. In the 8th chapter of his Gospel, we are introduced to Mary Magdalene, Joanna, Susanna, and "many others." It is also Luke who chose to share the story of Martha's frustration in getting all the housework done while Mary sat beside the Lord.
