Friends of Paul: Philemon & Apphia

November 22 celebrates two rather obscure saints: Philemon and Apphia.  They were most likely a married couple and were the recipients of one Paul's letters - a letter that became known simply as "Philemon."  They helped Paul in his ministry by letting their house in Colossae (in modern Turkey) be used as a church.  There is a good chance that Paul's "Letter to the Colossians" was first read in Philemon and Apphia's House Church.
