It was Saint Barnabas who gave Saul (a.k.a. Paul) a chance. Saul had made a reputation for himself as being a tormentor of Christians. When he had his conversion, many had serious doubts … it was hard to believe, accept, and welcome.
Barnabas, however, saw, or understood something about Saul and encouraged the disciples to give him a chance. Barnabas along with Ananias deserve much credit for prompting the missionary work of Saul.
