Saint Elijah and Saint Joseph Barsabbas ~ One Well-Known Saint and One Lesser-Known Saint for July 20

Although both of these men loved the Lord with all their hearts, these two saints were quite different!

Saint Elijah was very vocal, has plenty of colorful stories about him in the Bible and performed miracles.
Saint Joseph Barsabbas has no spoken words recorded, briefly appears in one short narrative, probably saw Jesus perform plenty of miracles, but none from the Bible are attributed to him.

Elijah left earth on a fiery chariot.
The name of Joseph Barsabbas quietly fades from the pages of Scripture.

Elijah participated in a contest with the prophets of Baal and won.

Joseph Barsabbas participated in a sort of contest with Saint Matthias and lost.
Elijah was replaced by Elisha.

Joseph Barsabbas almost replaced Judas Iscariot … but Matthias was chosen instead.
