St. Timothy is the patron of stomach problems. This patronage probably stems from something that St. Paul wrote to this early Christian. Timothy evidently used to have some stomach problems and Paul encouraged him to stop his practice of drinking water only - to drink wine as well. Paul felt that some wine might help out his stomach as well as some other illnesses that Timothy was suffering from.
Stop drinking only water, but have a little wine for the sake of your stomach and your frequent illnesses.
