The Call of Philip
The next day he decided to go to Galilee, and he found Philip.  And Jesus said to him, "Follow me."  Now Philip was from Bethsaida, the town of Andrew and Peter.  Philip found Nathanael [Bartholomew] and told him, "We have found the one about whom Moses wrote in the law, and also the prophets, Jesus son of Joseph, from Nazareth.   - John 1:43-45

Jesus Sends out the Twelve Apostles
He summoned the Twelve and gave them power and authority over all demons and to cure diseases, and he sent them to proclaim the kingdom of God and to heal[the sick].  He said to them, "Take nothing for the journey, neither walking stick, nor sack, nor food, nor money, and let no one take a second tunic.   - Luke 9:1-3

Philip and the Miracle of the Loaves and Fish
When Jesus raised his eyes and saw that a large crowd was coming to him, he said to Philip, "Where can we buy enough food for them to eat?"  He said this to test him, because he himself knew what he was going to do.   Philip answered him, "Two hundred days' wages worth of food would not be enough for each of them to have a little [bit]."   - John 6:5-7

Philip, Andrew, and the Greeks
Now there were some Greeks among those who had come up to worship at the feast.  They came to Philip, who was from Bethsaida in Galilee, and asked him., "Sir, we would like to see Jesus."  Philip went and told Andrew; then Andrew and Philip went and told Jesus.  Jesus answered them, "The hour has come for the Son of Man to be glorified."  - John 12:20-23

Philip said to him, "Master, show us the Father, and that will be enough for us.  Jesus said to him, "Have I been with you for so long a time and you still do not know me, Philip?  Whoever has seen me has seen the Father."   - John 14:8-9b
